Our Travel Roots Women’s Education and Empowerment Program in Morocco is a meaningful opportunity to stand alongside local women as they build skills, confidence, and independence. Across many Moroccan communities, women face social and economic barriers that limit their access to education, employment, and leadership. This program exists to help change that—one workshop, one lesson, one conversation at a time.
As a volunteer, you’ll work with local organisations that support women through literacy classes, language education, life skills training, and creative workshops. Many participants are women and young mothers from low-income backgrounds who are eager to learn, grow, and expand their opportunities.
Your role may include teaching basic English or French, facilitating sessions in communication or entrepreneurship, or helping women gain confidence through art, storytelling, or cultural exchange. You’ll be part of a safe, supportive environment where women uplift one another—and where your contributions are both respected and needed.
Key Activities:
Teaching English or French to beginner and intermediate levels
Supporting workshops on leadership, confidence, or vocational skills
Facilitating creative sessions in art, music, or storytelling

For many of the women you’ll work with, this may be their first opportunity to learn a new language, speak in public, or explore ideas beyond the home. Your support helps build their confidence—not only in the classroom but in their daily lives, relationships, and communities.

This community-driven initiative was created to connect passionate volunteers with local associations, daycares, and grassroots organisations across Morocco—in cities like Rabat, Salé, Casablanca, and Marrakech. It began as a way to support underfunded projects by matching them with individuals from around the world who want to make a difference while experiencing life in North Africa.
By working directly with local partners, this platform ensures that every volunteer placement is meaningful and well-supported. From early childhood centres to women’s empowerment initiatives, each collaboration focuses on real needs within the community and fosters long-term development through global exchange.
Mission & Vision
The mission is simple: to create authentic, impactful volunteer experiences that benefit both the local communities and the volunteers themselves. With a strong belief in cultural exchange and mutual learning, the platform offers flexible project options across various social and educational fields.
Volunteers are encouraged to immerse themselves in Moroccan life—whether through Arabic or French language classes, local excursions, or living with a host family—while making a tangible contribution to community wellbeing. The vision is a world where travel is more than sightseeing; it’s about connection, contribution, and shared growth.
