Our Travel Roots French Teaching Program in Morocco offers a unique opportunity to support language education while immersing yourself in a country where French is widely used in education, business, and government. French is considered Morocco’s second language, but access to quality instruction—especially in lower-income communities—remains uneven.
As a volunteer, you’ll play an important role in helping students improve their confidence and fluency in spoken and written French. You’ll assist or lead lessons in schools, community centres, or NGOs, working with children, teenagers, or even adult learners depending on your placement.
Your teaching approach can be playful and creative—using songs, games, flashcards, and real conversations to make language learning feel fun and natural. Whether helping a child master new vocabulary or supporting an adult in preparing for exams or job opportunities, you’ll witness first-hand the real-world value of your support.
No teaching qualification is needed—just a good grasp of French, a passion for communication, and a willingness to engage in meaningful cultural exchange.
Key Activities:
Supporting local teachers with classroom instruction
Teaching grammar, vocabulary, and conversational French

Your Impact as a Volunteer
By volunteering on Our Travel Roots French Teaching Program in Morocco, you're giving learners more than just language skills—you’re giving them tools for empowerment. French plays a major role in Morocco’s academic, administrative, and professional spheres, yet access to confident, conversational instruction is often limited, especially outside private institutions.
Your presence in the classroom helps bridge this gap. Whether it’s a young student discovering the joy of language or an adult learner preparing for work or study, your guidance opens new pathways for communication, education, and opportunity.
Beyond grammar and vocabulary, you’re also nurturing confidence, curiosity, and connection. For many learners, speaking French with a fluent volunteer is a rare and motivating experience. You offer not just knowledge, but encouragement—and that builds lasting motivation.
And while you're teaching, you’re learning too. You'll gain insights into Moroccan culture, education systems, and day-to-day life—all while forming genuine bonds with students, staff, and your host community.

This community-driven initiative was created to connect passionate volunteers with local associations, daycares, and grassroots organisations across Morocco—in cities like Rabat, Salé, Casablanca, and Marrakech. It began as a way to support underfunded projects by matching them with individuals from around the world who want to make a difference while experiencing life in North Africa.
By working directly with local partners, this platform ensures that every volunteer placement is meaningful and well-supported. From early childhood centres to women’s empowerment initiatives, each collaboration focuses on real needs within the community and fosters long-term development through global exchange.
Mission & Vision
The mission is simple: to create authentic, impactful volunteer experiences that benefit both the local communities and the volunteers themselves. With a strong belief in cultural exchange and mutual learning, the platform offers flexible project options across various social and educational fields.
Volunteers are encouraged to immerse themselves in Moroccan life—whether through Arabic or French language classes, local excursions, or living with a host family—while making a tangible contribution to community wellbeing. The vision is a world where travel is more than sightseeing; it’s about connection, contribution, and shared growth.
