As a volunteer, you’ll support classes in tailoring, sewing, and handcraft production—providing mentorship, assistance, and encouragement to students who are eager to learn and develop their abilities. Whether helping with one-on-one instruction or assisting local trainers in group workshops, your involvement helps strengthen both skills and confidence.
You may also help market the products created during training sessions, offer input on design ideas, or help facilitate community sales to boost income for local artisans. If you have experience in marketing, fashion design, business development, or simply a willingness to support where needed, your input will go a long way.

What to Expect: A Day in the Life of a Career Development Volunteer in Tanzania.
Your volunteer days on the Career Development Training Program are hands-on, varied, and deeply rewarding. You’ll work closely with local staff and community members to deliver vocational training that helps young adults and women gain practical, income-generating skills.
Depending on your skills and interests, you may assist in tailoring classes, help with product development and sales ideas, or even offer informal business coaching or marketing support.
Most of your day will be spent at the training centre where workshops take place. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their creativity, patience, and a collaborative spirit. Beyond the classroom, you’ll have opportunities to engage with the wider community, learn about local initiatives, and share knowledge that can truly change lives.
Example Schedule (Monday–Friday):
8:00am – 9:00am – Breakfast at your volunteer accommodation
9:30am – 12:30pm – Assist with tailoring or handcraft training sessions
12:30pm – 1:30pm – Shared lunch with staff and fellow volunteers
1:30pm – 3:30pm – Support product development, document stories, or help with marketing
3:30pm – 5:00pm – Planning sessions or engaging with trainees one-on-one
Evenings – Free time to relax, connect with your host family, or explore the area
Weekends are free for you to rest or explore Tanzania’s many attractions, from Arusha’s markets to nearby national parks.

Your Home in Arusha, Tanzania
During your time on your Program in Tanzania, your accommodation will be simple, comfortable, and designed to help you feel immersed in the local culture while maintaining a sense of community with fellow volunteers.
Volunteer Housing:
You’ll stay in shared volunteer housing with the option of living with a local family. The house is equipped with the basic necessities and includes:
Two separate bedrooms—one with twin bunk beds and another with a queen-size bunk bed and en-suite shower.
A second shared bathroom with a shower.
A communal living room area to relax and connect with fellow volunteers.
A separate outdoor washing area for laundry.
If you prefer more privacy or different surroundings, volunteers also have the option of staying in a nearby guesthouse, which can be arranged in advance.
Meals:
Three meals are provided each day:
Breakfast and Dinner at the volunteer house.
Lunch at the Foundation—where you’ll share the same nutritious meal as the children, typically consisting of rice, vegetables, ugali, chapatti, and local fruits.
Airport Pickup & Orientation:
Volunteers are picked up from Kilimanjaro International Airport and transported directly to their accommodation in Arusha. If you choose to arrive via Nairobi, a shuttle or bus can bring you to Arusha, where you will be met at the bus station.
Upon arrival, a full orientation session will be provided covering local safety, transport, cultural tips, and an introduction to your project and community.
This accommodation setup is intended to give you peace of mind so you can focus fully on the meaningful work you’re here to do—supporting vulnerable children and becoming part of a deeply impactful local initiative.
History
Founded in 2021, this impactful community initiative began with a vision to uplift disadvantaged families in Nasholi Village, Kikatiti–Arusha. What started as a humble daycare for just two children quickly grew into a beacon of hope for many more. Within months, the center expanded to care for 15 children, and now provides early childhood education and support for over 40 children aged 2–6.
The center operates as a full-time daycare facility offering academic support, emotional nurturing, and physical wellbeing services to children who would otherwise be denied basic human needs. With limited resources and a rented facility, they have still managed to create a safe and nurturing environment—an incredible achievement powered by passion and community collaboration.
The team is currently working toward securing their own land to build a permanent center, with half of the funding already raised.
Mission & Vision
The mission is clear: to resolve development challenges in underprivileged communities through education, health, childcare, life skills, and conservation. Their goal is to foster equity by empowering women, uplifting vulnerable children, promoting healthcare access, and developing sustainable agricultural practices.
By working closely with international volunteers and interns, they also promote cultural exchange and mutual learning—expanding horizons for both the volunteers and the communities they serve. At its core, the vision is to build a future where every child—regardless of background—has access to education, opportunity, and the chance to be the hero of their own story.
