You’ll be working with local teachers in schools and community centres, providing vital support to their lessons and bringing a fresh intercultural perspective. From running fun games and phonics activities to helping prepare lesson materials, you’ll see your students grow in both confidence and English proficiency thanks to your efforts.

  • Your Impact as a Volunteer

Choosing to volunteer on our English Teaching Program in Puerto Inca goes far beyond lesson plans and vocabulary drills — it’s a meaningful way to invest in brighter futures for children and youth who otherwise have limited educational opportunities. By helping them build their English skills, you give local students a stronger foundation for pursuing higher education, tourism-related employment, and meaningful global connections.

Every song you sing, every game you play, and every conversation you guide helps your students build confidence and broaden their horizons. English lessons may seem simple, but they open real doors for young people in this region, supporting the local community’s long-term growth and resilience.

Your presence also helps local teachers by easing their workload, introducing fresh ideas, and encouraging collaborative learning practices that continue even after you leave. Beyond the classroom, you’ll serve as a positive role model, promoting cross-cultural understanding and inspiring young learners to believe in their own potential.

Through this program, you will not only help strengthen education in the Amazon but also gain new skills, perspectives, and friendships that will stay with you long after you return home.

  • History

Our trusted partner in Puerto Inca, Peru, was founded to address educational inequalities faced by Amazonian communities, where access to quality English language learning has long been limited. Recognising the powerful link between language skills and future opportunities, they began delivering community-based programs that connect international volunteers with local schools and teachers.

Over the years, their work has expanded to include educational support, intercultural exchanges, and capacity-building workshops that strengthen the skills of local educators while inspiring students.

From its early days of offering grassroots literacy initiatives, the project has grown into a respected community hub for language learning, cultural awareness, and social inclusion. Today, they continue to play a vital role in empowering local youth to dream bigger and build brighter futures.

    Mission & Vision

The mission of our partner is to create long-term, community-led educational change by empowering local children and youth with essential language skills and broader cultural understanding. By supporting English education, they aim to break down barriers to opportunity and help young people thrive in a globalising world.

Their vision is a future where every child in the Peruvian Amazon has access to quality learning opportunities that respect local culture while opening new doors — ultimately creating resilient, skilled, and confident individuals who can drive positive change in their communities.
