The Rescue diver course is a fantastic way to further improve one’s skills as a safe diver in the water. Students will learn how to recognize and avoid potential hazards, control an emergency situation both in and out of the water and participate in role playing scenarios of both responsive and unresponsive divers. These advanced skills mould students into a safe and responsible diver with the ability to handle any situation in a calm and controlled manner. This course teaches the value of the safety standards we practice here at MRCI.
The PADI Rescue Diver course prepares you to deal with dive emergencies, minor and major, using a variety of techniques. Through knowledge development and rescue exercises, you learn what to look for and how to respond. During rescue scenarios, you put into practice your knowledge and skills. The course covers the following topics:
Self-rescue and diver stress
Emergency management
Panicked diver response
In-water rescue breathing protocols
Egress (exits)
Dive accident scenarios

Students Must:
- Be a PADI Advanced Open Water certified.
- Complete an Emergency First Response (EFR) course.
- Complete the PADI eLearning course: Rescue Diver.
